Lecture “Cycles of crisis and recovery in Byzantine and Ottoman Macedonia”

Prof. Izdebski and Dr Liakopoulos will present some results of their projects on the interplay between societies of the past, natural environment and climate in the Byzantine and Ottoman Balkans www.shh.mpg.de/1056512/byzres

This project was also one basis for the recently published "Companion to the Environmental History of Byzantium" https://brill.com/display/title/24910 , edited by Adam Izdebski and Johannes Preiser-Kapeller.

Within the Cluster, the event is related to the research topics of the Research Node "Geographies of Power" and the Transversal Working Group "Impacts and Interpretations fo Environmental Heritage".
