Summer Academy

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Vienna is hosting a Summer School within the "EurAsian Transformations" Summer Academy. The Summer School will focus on the specific languages of the Eastern Silk Road.

  • Bactrian (Indo-European: Middle-Iranian) – Melanie Malzahn
  • Tocharian (Indo-European) – Hannes A. Fellner
  • Tangut (Sino-Tibetan) – Xun Gong
  • Gandhari (Indo-European: Middle-Indic) – Angelo Mascheroni

Ideally, participants should participate in all the courses since they are offered as a comprehensive package.

The Summer School will take place from Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Hörsaal 1 of the Department of Linguistics of the University of Vienna, Sensengasse 3a, 1090 Vienna. Classes will be held from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (including breaks).
